Faith Race 10-1-2020
Press On In The WORD
As our faith is being tested these days in trials with pivotal consequences in all areas of life, we must keep focused on the truth that has set us free. It is in the truth that we are to make our call and election sure; that is, the call of God.
Let us be reminded and assured that our lives are not destined by the wisdom or plans of man, but by the will of God which began with His call. In truth, we did not call upon God to save us; He called upon us to be saved by His Son, the Lord Jesus Christ. We did not choose Him; He chose us!
For whom He foreknew, He also predestined to be conformed to the image of His Son, that He might be the firstborn of many brethren. Moreover, whom He predestined, these He also called; whom He called, these He also justified; and whom He justified, these He also glorified. Romans 8:29-30.
Let us press on, in the joy of the Lord, as we run with endurance the race set before us, looking unto Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith (Hebrews 12:1-2), with the word of God being a lamp to our feet, and light to our path (Psalm 119:105).
Let us press on in the Word, being focused on and in our Lord Jesus Christ, to live and move and have our being in Him (Acts 17:28), as we make it our aim to be well pleasing to Him (2 Corinthians 5:9).
As it is written:
Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places in Christ, just as He chose us in Him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and without blame before Him in love, having predestined to adoption as sons by Jesus Christ to Himself, according to the good pleasure of His will, to the praise of the glory of His grace, by which He made us accepted in the Beloved…In Him also we have obtained an inheritance, being predestined according to the counsel of His will, that we who first trusted in Christ should be to the praise of His glory. Ephesians 1:3-6,11-12.
And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are called according to His purpose. For whom He foreknew, He also predestined to be conformed to the image of His Son, that He might be the firstborn of many brethren. Moreover, whom He predestined, these He also called; whom He called, these He also justified; and whom He justified, He also glorified. Romans 8:28-30.
God is faithful, by whom you were called into the fellowship of His Son, Jesus Christ, our Lord. 1 Corinthians 1:9.
Grace and peace be multiplied to you in the knowledge of God and of Jesus our Lord, as His divine power has given to us all things that pertain to life and godliness, through the knowledge of Him who called us by glory and virtue, by which have been given to us exceedingly great and precious promises, that though these you may be partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust. 2 Peter 1:2-4.
They stumble, being disobedient to the word, to which they were also appointed. But you are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, His own special people, that you may proclaim the praises of Him who called you out of darkness into His marvelous light; who once were not a people but are now the people of God, who had not obtained mercy but now have obtained mercy. 1 Peter 2:8-10.
Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary, the devil walks about like a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour. Resist him, steadfast in the faith, knowing that the same sufferings are experienced by your brotherhood in the world. But may the God of all grace, who called us to His eternal glory by Christ Jesus, after you have suffered a while, perfect, establish, strengthen, and settle you.1 Peter 5:8-10.
But also for this very reason, giving all diligence, add to your faith virtue, to virtue knowledge, to knowledge self-control, to self-control perseverance, to perseverance godliness, to godliness brotherly kindness, and to brotherly kindness love. For if these things are yours and abound, you will be neither barren nor unfruitful in the knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ. For he who lacks these things is shortsighted, even to blindness, and has forgotten that he was cleansed from his old sins. 2 Peter 1:5-9.
Not that I have already attained, or am already perfected; but I press on, that I may lay hold of that for which Christ Jesus has also laid hold of me. Brethren, I do not count myself to have apprehended; but one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind and reaching forward to those things which are ahead, I press toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus. Philippians 3:12-14.
Therefore, brethren, be even more diligent to make your call and election sure, for if you do these things you will never stumble; for so an entrance will be supplied to you abundantly into the everlasting kingdom of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. 2 Peter 1:10-11.
Press on in the Word as you run your race with endurance, looking unto Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith (Hebrews 12:1-2), and being temperate in all things, run with certainty for the prize to obtain an imperishable crown (1 Corinthians 9:24-25), to the glory of God.
Praise, Bless, and Please the Lord Jesus Christ!
