Eagles Have Expectations Not Afraid to Believe

Eagles have expectations not afraid to believe. Our perception of reality is key to life. Do we view life through the lens of hope, like an eagle, with expectation or through the lens fear – afraid to believe? Whatever view we choose shapes our lives and the impact we have on others. Our human nature and the world we live in tend to cause us to gravitate toward a pessimistic viewpoint rather than an optimistic viewpoint. Listen to your own thoughts and words and you will see this is true. The Bible gives us clear understanding through examples of both these views: God’s will for believers or for those who are afraid to believe.
Eagles have expectations
An example of a pessimistic view is found in 2Kings 4:15-16. God through the prophet Elisha gave a promise to a Shunammite woman that she would have a son in a year: So he said, “Call her.” When he had called her, she stood in the doorway. Then he said, “About this time next year you shall embrace a son.” She did not believe the prophet and by extension did not believe God- “And she said, “No my lord. Man of God do not lie to your maidservant!” She accused Elisha of lying to her even though he was a man of God; she wanted to believe but was afraid of being disappointed by God. “Lie” in Hebrew means to deceive. She literally accused God of deceiving her. How many times has this happened to us. We are given a promise and we are afraid to believe because we don’t want to be disappointed. This is not God’s will for our lives and in spite of the woman’s unbelief God still caused this promise to be fulfilled- “but the woman conceived and bore a son when the appointed time had come, of which Elisha had told her.” He is good and His mercy endures forever.
Eagles not afraid to believe for restoration
You may find yourself in a situation in which everything looks bleak and you think that there is no hope or future for you but because He is the Most High God He wants our expectations to be high and not to give in to any sense of disappointment, discouragement, or fear – afraid to believe. When you want relationships to be restored, your body to be well, or have enough finances to live and give to others we must not give in to any fear of disappointment – afraid to believe but trust in the Lord with all our hearts. In Jeremiah 29:11 it says- “For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says the Lord, thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you hope and expectation.”
God Has Provided
God has provided everything we need to live lives full of expectancy and with a godly vision of our future. It says in 2Pet. 1:3-4- “..by which have been given to us exceedingly great and precious promises, that through these you may be partakes of the divine nature…” This word is not just for us but for those that He will bring into our lives. So, step out dare to believe remove the clothing of fear. It is time to believe God.
